Building Better Underground Infrastructure

Underground electrical infrastructure is a critical part of many commercial, industrial, municipal, and utility projects. Before electrical equipment can be energized above ground, extensive work may be required below ground to establish reliable pathways for power, controls, communications, and other systems.

Civil electrical construction can include trenching and excavation, underground conduit, concrete-encased duct banks, handholes, pull boxes, vaults, equipment pads, grounding infrastructure, utility crossings, backfill, and site restoration.

Coordination between civil and electrical crews is especially important. Conduit routes, elevations, stub-ups, equipment locations, inspections, and construction sequencing must be accurately coordinated so underground work supports the electrical installation that follows.

Bullert Industrial Electric’s in-house Civil Construction department allows civil and electrical work to be coordinated within the same team. This provides greater control over underground installation, scheduling, field coordination, and project execution while reducing unnecessary handoffs between contractors.
