CIVIL CONSTRUCTION
In-House Civil Capabilities for Electrical Projects
Bullert Industrial Electric’s in-house Civil Construction department allows our team to self-perform more of the site and underground work associated with electrical construction projects. Bringing these capabilities under one team helps improve coordination, schedule control, and overall project efficiency.
With expanded civil capabilities and a specialized equipment fleet, Bullert can coordinate excavation, underground conduit systems, utility infrastructure, equipment foundations, backfill, and related site work directly with the electrical construction process.
Scope
Civil Construction Scope & Capabilities
Bullert’s civil capabilities support the underground and site infrastructure required for electrical construction, from initial excavation and trenching through conduit installation, backfill, equipment foundations, and final site restoration.
Trenching and Excavation
Excavation for underground electrical, communication, and utility systems in a variety of soil and site conditions.
Rock Excavation
Use of specialized Rock Wheel equipment to cut through hard ground and rock where conventional trenching methods are not practical.
Underground Conduit Installation
Installation of PVC, rigid conduit, duct banks, sleeves, and raceways for power, controls, communications, and low-voltage systems.
Utility Infrastructure
Installation and coordination of underground electrical and related utility pathways across industrial, commercial, institutional, and municipal sites.
Duct Bank Construction
Installation of concrete-encased duct banks, conduit spacers, reinforcing, sweeps, stub-ups, and associated underground distribution infrastructure.
Handholes, Pull Boxes, and Vaults
Excavation, placement, and coordination of underground boxes, manholes, handholes, and electrical vaults.
Equipment Foundations and Pads
Site preparation and coordination for transformer pads, switchgear pads, generators, electrical equipment, and other utility structures.
Backfill and Compaction
Placement and compaction of suitable backfill materials following underground utility installation.
Slinger Truck Operations
Controlled placement of sand, gravel, aggregate, and backfill material using our Slinger truck to improve efficiency and access in difficult areas.
Bedding and Warning Systems
Installation of conduit bedding, shading material, warning tape, tracer systems, and other required underground protection.
Site Electrical Distribution
Underground infrastructure for feeders, site lighting, buildings, equipment, pump stations, and remote electrical systems.
Site Lighting Infrastructure
Trenching, conduit, pull boxes, foundations, and underground distribution for parking lot, roadway, and exterior lighting systems.
Grounding Infrastructure
Excavation and installation support for grounding grids, ground rods, grounding electrode conductors, and other buried grounding systems.
Utility Crossing Coordination
Installation and protection of electrical systems where new work crosses existing utilities, roadways, structures, or other site infrastructure.
Roadway and Pavement Crossings
Trenching, boring coordination, conduit installation, backfill, and restoration associated with underground crossings.
Site Restoration
Backfill, grading, aggregate replacement, and restoration of disturbed areas following underground construction.
Electrical-Civil Coordination
Direct coordination between our civil and electrical crews to ensure conduits, stub-ups, equipment locations, and underground pathways are installed accurately for future electrical work.
Existing Facility Upgrades
Excavation and underground modifications required for service upgrades, equipment additions, site expansions, and facility modernization.
